love letter to erik #20

my dearest erik,

yesterday was such a brilliant day! the sun came streaming in through the windows, and i felt inspired to take a walk to signal hill, one of st. john's historic sites. an hour later, i was snap happy with the most stunning views of the city, the bay, and especially the gorgeous blue ocean that literally took my breath away!

signal hill has had a long history as a place of significance dating back to 1762 when this territory was bitterly fought over by the french and the british. more recently in 1901, the first transatlantic wireless transmission was received there. when i read that, i raced to the top and sent my very own wireless transmission to you then waited for a signal back. got thrashed around by the insanely strong winds and eventually walked off feeling dejected.

as i was making my way back down, something told me to go right instead, which led me to the ladies lookout. so called because it's where the wives and lovers of seafarers used to go to look for their love, hoping to see them returning from the sea. how apropos! from there, i got a 360 degree view of the city, the harbor and dramatic rock formations coming up from the sea. my eye was drawn to a perfect little cove, and there! right there!! i saw your beautiful face in the water smiling at me, and i knew everything would be ok.

you told me to look out into the horizon, where there is no beginning, no end. that is us, that is our love! your smile told me we'll be together again. it said we are meant to be. despite our differences, we are two peas in a pod, a yin to the yang, a perfect complement to complete each other, and it doesn't end because one leaves earth. this is just a temporary separation that will help us both to learn and grow. when the time comes, we'll pick up right where we left off, whether it's in heaven or on earth, and celebrate the reunion of our souls.

can't wait my love, simply CANNOT WAIT!!
